The innovative technology consists of targeted and synchronized heat removal on a circuit-by-circuit basis, as opposed to traditional thermoregulation, which consists of constantly circulating a fluid (water or oil) in the mold at a constant temperature.
Gefond HPDC was born from the analysis of most diecasting plants during production: the heat input of the aluminum to the mold is normally sufficient to keep it hot, and it is therefore unnecessary to heat the thermoregulation fluid during normal production.
The possibility of differentiating thermoregulation in the various zones of the mold, combined with increased heat removal, allows for a reduction in the lubrication cycle, thus increasing productivity and limiting the cost of waste disposal.
In addition, an increase in productivity between 12 percent and 14 percent has been verified, thanks in part to a decrease in scrap and downtime related to mold maintenance. Finally, the savings fromeliminating oil from the process should be emphasized.
